Regular Global Gatherings for Australians


Brussels - Belgium

The Australian Society In Belgium meets on the last Friday of each month at the Australian Embassy in Brussels from 6 to 8 pm. This is a great way to meet new Aussies in a casual and friendly atmosphere. Due to security reasons at the Embassy, you will need to register with info@australiasociety.be to gain admittance.

Boston - USA

The "Waterhole" occurs on the first Friday of each month at "The Asgard" 350 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge (towards Boston from Central Square). Look for fellow Aussies and Kiwis from 7:00pm onwards and enjoy yourself.

Around the last Wednesday of every month ‘Advance –Australian Professionals in America’ meet for Networking drinks. A great opportunity to meet other Aussies (and Kiwis) in the area and to swap business cards. Budapest - Hungary

The Australian Embassy has a drink night on the first Thursday of every month at the Champs Pub and Restaurant, D-4, VII. Dohány utca 20., Ph (361) 413 1665.

 

Copenhagen - Denmark

The Southern Cross Club have Pub Evenings on the first Friday of each month from 6pm to 7 pm at the Globe.

The Globe is located at Nørregade 43-45, not far from Nørreport Station.
As much as possible there will be a Southern Cross Club committee member there. . Just look for the flag or ask the bar where to find the SCC group. This is a great meeting place especially for the young members and their friends so just turn up, but remember to arrive before 7 p.m.


Dubai

The Australia NZ Association on every second Tuesday of the month from 7.30pm at the Blue Bar, Novotel Hotel, Dubai. Everyone is welcome, so just come along, look for an ANZA Committee badge and say G'day!!

ABIG (Australian Business in the Gulf) usually meets once per month on the 3rd Tuesday for a business luncheon and have someone from the business community to talk to the group.

Duesseldorf - Germany

For those of you in the area (or passing through), the Düsseldorf stammtisch (regulars) happens every Friday night at 7.30pm - 9.30pm (or whenever the last leaves) at O'Reilly's Irish Pub Markt Platz 6 - Altstadt.



Edmonton - Canada

The Downunder Club meet every second Wednesday at The WunderBar, 8120-101st Street, Edmonton, from about 7:30 onwards – all Aussies and Kiwi expats along with friendly Canucks welcome.

Hannover - Germany

The German-Australian Society, Hannover meet on the third Thursday on the month at Kaisers bar (Schaufelder Str, Nordstadt, tram 4 or 5 to Schneiderberg, parking lot opposite the bar) in winter and at Meyers Hof beer garden at the zoo in summer (tram 11 to the zoo, parking at the zoo car park is free after 7 pm) to chew the fat, swap news and views, etc.. One of the longest running informal functions in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Run by the Australian Chamber of Commerce, "Sundowners" is held on the second Thursday of the month

The Australian Association have a monthly gathering called "Sundowners", held on the first Thursday of the month at the Australian Consulate General in Hong Kong, Wombat Hole, 24/F Harbour Centre, 25 Harbour Road Wanchai from 6pm. Entry is $50 and includes light snacks - a coupon system operates at the bar.

Houston - USA

The Australian-American Chamber of Commerce hosts a Sundowner on the second Wednesday of every month from 5.00 PM onwards at Pub Fiction, 2303 Smith St, Midtown, Houston, TX 77006 (Opposite Spec’s Liquor Store). Finger foods are provided and drinks are at happy hour prices. Come along and socialize with fellow Aussies. Members, Associates, visiting Australians and any one interested in Australian American relations are most welcome to attend.

The ANZCCK (Australia New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Korea) have their monthly “Sundowners” at the Boomerang Bar, 11th Floor Kyobo Building, Chongro-ku from 6.30pm on the third Friday of every month.

Are you new to Singapore? Do you want to meet some nice people over a cup of coffee? Casual Coffee mornings are held twice monthly and no registration is required. Playgroup
You are welcome to come along to an English-speaking playgroup in Södermalm.
We are a group of mothers and occasional fathers with at least one native English speaker in the home who meet with our children (mostly under four but all ages welcome!) Friday afternoons from 2:00 to 5:00 at Högalids Church on Södermalm near Hornstull.

Stuttgart - Germany

Aussies (or those interested in Australia) generally meet each Wednesday at the George and Dragon Pub. Willy-Brandt Strasse, Stuttgart (close to S-Bahn hauptbahnhof, behind the Hotel Intercontinental) from around 8pm onwards for a Quiz & Trivia Night.

Any Aussie who goes there looking to make some contact should ask at the bar when they register for the quiz night if there are any other aussies there and if they could introduce them when they come.


Toronto - Canada

YACA, the Australian Canadian Association, has monthly drinks nights for Aussies and interested Canadians in the Toronto area at Foxes Den Bar & Grill, 1075 Bay Street, Toronto. There are lots of other events aimed at helping Aussies settle in, or just to give them a taste of home on the way through.
